Vendor Relations
In 1998, MDI recognized changes in the staffing industry and
created a Vendor Coordinator position. The Vendor Coordinator
has two primary responsibilities...
- Establish alliances with various staff-augmentation firms
that can assist us in finding qualified resources.
- Identify and create partnerships with staff-augmentation
firms whose client base complements that of MDI.
In 1999, this function has helped us deliver higher quality
service to our clients, and we anticipate future growth in
this strategic area.
Our subcontractor alliances are based on our clients' business
needs, and the vendors are chosen for their ability to add
value by supplementing MDI's resources. Also, as MDI is an
MWBE, it is our official policy that every practical opportunity
is given to other MWBE organizations.
The most important factor in the success of a partnering relationship
is the ability of the firms to work together and trust each
other. We use the following criteria to select our subcontracted
suppliers...
- Willingness to understand our clients' business needs
- Ethical approach to conducting business
- Thorough candidate screening process
- Agreement to a client focused measurement process
- Commitment to MDI as a partner
- Preferential consideration is given to NACCB (National
Association of Computer Consulting Businesses) member firms
